Shaving vs Waxing
Thinking of ditching the razor?
If you normally shave and are thinking of getting waxed instead, here are a few reasons why waxing is far superior for hair removal than shaving.
Why Wax?
It last longer than shaving or using hair removal creams, you will have minimal regrowth for the first two weeks, then hair will grow back finer. You’ll find that by week four your hair is still quite sparse.
The more you get waxed, the longer you can generally leave in between appointments.
Its kinder to skin! No more razor rash, bumps or irritation.
Intimate waxing is super quick when carried out properly, most clients will have a complete Hollywood in just,15 minutes, larger areas such as full legs will take slightly longer.
Let’s face it Just shaving just isn’t convenient…
For most people shaving requires daily maintenance.
When you’re having a nice bath or shower the last thing you probably want to be doing is faffing around shaving. A particular nightmare is having to get in awkward positions to shave your lady bits – and risky an exercise as showers are dead slippy!
You’ve got the added issue of massively upsetting your skin, no matter what razor you try. I’m sure you’ve experienced shaving rash, razor burn, sore and dry skin, that itch beyond belief as stubble starts to appear within a matter of days!
With waxing you don’t get any of those horrible things; instead you get little to no hair regrowth for weeks, YES weeks!
No nasty rashes, no dry and sore skin and no horrendous jaggy stubble!
It’s also very convenient because you’re simply attending for your waxing appointment once a month.
Shaving and hair removal creams, only removes hair very superficially, at the skin’s surface. Waxing removes hair from the root meaning that after you’ve got the hair growth in sync you can enjoy weeks of being hair free.
Waxing also weakens the hair follicle; each time the hair is removed from the root, it causes a small amount of trauma to the hair follicle. Over time with repeated waxing this trauma can weaken the follicle.
Resulting in reduction of hair growth, as the hair follicle becomes weaker, it may produce finer and thinner hair. In some cases, the follicle can become so damaged that it stops producing hair altogether leading to a reduction in hair growth to the waxed area.
Longer regrowth cycle, when the hair is removed from the root, it takes longer for the hair to re-grow compared to shaving or hair removal creams. The regrowth period can vary but typically lasts several weeks.
By continuing waxing over time the cumulative effect of repeated follicle trauma can result in finer less dense hair growth.
